    1. I have not read much, but I have read many other authors before, starting at your age of first reading.

      Today I read her two pieces - "sakal griha haralo jaar" "narir kono desh nei" (chapter 1). I plan to read more, but I had no idea that such a powerful writer in Bengali. Powerful especially because she talks about women status. amader desher narir ei durobstha keno? Her analysis and writing style and "himmat", I admire her.

  30. As a Muslim I would like to pointed out several points:

    1. Islam is the religion of peace and Islam bring peace in this world when there was violent all over the world.

    2. Islam is the religion that established the right of woman in every step of life.

    3. In holy Quran Allah declare to all mankind that "Your paradise will be under the feet of your mother", which set the position of all woman above all.

    4. Islam never teach to be violent or cruel to any other religion, But Islam teach to be respectful to all religion and all mankind.

    5. Last but not least Allah send the holy Quran for ALL MANKIND not only for muslim. It is the simplest way of understanding that Islam is a Religon of peace.

    I wrote this point based on small knowledge on Islam. I have no complain about any other religion but what I believe that if you want to talk about any other religion its better to know properly before you tell some thing.

    1. get real, islam never teaches "peaceful co-existence" with other religions. the idea of secularism is not even there in their so called holy book. even Christians also try to convert others to their religions, but they also say "peaceful co-existence" with your enemy. WHERE IS THIS TOLERANCE IN ISLAMIC VIEW. to Islam who doesn't follow the path of Allah and words spoken by him through quran are all kafirs ?. so we the non-believers , Hindus or Christians or Buddhists and etc other religions who like to find God in their own way or some even don't believe in God, like Atheists, so they do not have the right to exist in society? where is the mercy, forgiveness, peaceful co-existence? any ideas spoken by someone, if it is not criticized or debated to find out the pros and cons and accept the pros and cons examined by people over a long period of time for decades even centuries cannot with stand the taste of time. what i am trying to say here is, an idea or ideology which was good at some point of time, may not be good for future, with changing social circumstances, negativities should be accepted and worked upon and change the view of the idea, modify it according to time. same way, one religion, which tells lots of Dos and Don't s and one has to follow those strictly is not mandatory or should be modified according to the need of time. Islam never allows this change and modification to let other religious ideas and believers of them exist in society peacefully. their way is either you follow it or ready to get punished. thats why they fun of other religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity etc. bottom line is no matter how good and open minded a muslim is , he or she never will allow other thoughts to
      co-exist or accept them if it criticizes Islam's idea. they run the Muslim society by force. people are pushed from their childhood to go through their religious text from quran again and again and learn it by heart. after a certain age, when a person is grown up, they 're already brainwashed or was so made to feel and think like whats given in their book is the absolute truth. they can't think beyond it. so they can't accept criticism at any cost. they think criticizing ideas are invading and weakening Islamic views. so they must be stopped at any cost. everywhere around the world Islamic people are doing the same. they call themselves they 're believers of peace ? PEACE for WHOM ? For Muslims and only for Muslims. peace is not for people of other believers. thats the fact, get it real. either you convert to their religion or ready to get punished. thats why they 're doing the jihad( resistance). their war, their fight is against the kafirs, us, the secular thinkers, who likes to celebrate 25th December and also like to have good food during Ramadan in the evening also celebrate Durga puja. but they 're not like that. they want to hold on to their strict ideological religious thinking and put pressure to max limit to maintain the words mentioned in their religious text book in the society. in the end i would like to say, like it or not, this religion (islam) never teaches communal harmony with other religions, they 're forced to live with us in a social structure of modern society where other great super powers from other countries follow different religion, or by now we were all been converted by now if Muslims were super power in the world. As salam wahlekum ( peace be upon earth ? ) peace for whom ? if we 're all kafirs and we need to be severely punished , then peace for whom on this earth. Its for THEM ( muslims). but does our social system actually , the so called secular govt., is it really treating everyone equal or just suppressing and ignoring any criticism made against Islam by rebellious thinker who like to question the basic ideologies of Islam.

Yet, i am not against the brutality and cultures of brutality in different countries and communities. But no religion permits brutality and Islam never. Those who are practicing brutality are not aware of their own religion and misunderstood completely. Religion is for establishing peace, social security for all gender. Proper knowledge and clear understating is needed, use your own intellectuality and don't just agree upon peoples thought if it might be acceptable for you, because you never know who is right and who is wrong. So, do not let you to misunderstand and lead yourself towards an unethical and pouted set of mind like Taslima Nasrim. I wish good life for all of you and hoping for a true human being.

    What is religion? Why do we need it? How many of us have lived for religion and died for religion? How many of the people have got 2 square of meals without any work or job, just for religion? How many of us have saved loved one from death just for religion? How many people have become richest just for religion? How many of us have become brilliant just for religion? Answer is a big no. Then why we talk about the religion at all. I am not impressed with Islam or Hinduism, etc. Though by birth I am a hindu myself.
    My parents gave me the life and for them I am in this world. They are the “God” to me and no body else in the world. I am the person who is responsible for my environment which I create for myself in and around myself. For my every success I am the person responsible and so is for my failure. For my happiness I don’t need any religion and for my sorrows no religion is responsible. To prove my point I don’t need to use any foul language for any religion or a person in this world. But I do believe in one thing that whatever you do in this world good, bad or ugly, you will get back the same from this world in the same coin, in this lifetime only. No religion in this world can save one from this ultimate truth.
